  • Where’s Rita?!

    So,
this weekend was a blast. Alex came down, and we waited for Hurricane
Rita to come…and waited…and waited… we received some wind, but
nothing else! No rain, no nothing. I am very thankful for that, but it
seems that the hype over the Hurricane was too much in my area.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for my family in Louisiana or
    Arkansas…

    We
ended up cleaning my apartment, watching movies and going to IKEA,
which, might I add, is the best store EVER! I fell in love with a
couch — I should be getting it in a few months, once I get a steady pay.
My goal is to make-over each room in my apartment with IKEA duds. It’s
gonna look so great. So, if anyone is interested in buying any of my
current furniture, just let me know! I’ll sell it cheap!

    Work
is going well, as always. I’m really getting the hang of it, and I
can’t imagine what I would have done without this place. It’s so
amazing. I showed Alex my office on Saturday, and he was really
impressed. Aww, his little girl is growing up.

    Sara
and Sara might come up this weekend for some much needed out-of-house
time and SHOPPING!! Whoohoo! We’ll see if it goes according to plan or
if something else comes up, as it most always does.

Have to go get a new DL soon… Oh well, I’ll get over it.

Hope everyone made it through the storm ok…You are all in my prayers.

  • more katrina: loot vs. find.

Here’s the black vs. white, “looting” vs. “finding” picture that everyone is buzzing about…

I am almost ashamed to call myself a member of the news community…This is so appalling.

Let me know what you think.

(Granted, I know that it says it’s because of two different writing styles, but why would journalists feel it necessary to bring this up? I suppose it makes for a better story if the race card is blatently being played…what bullshit.)

  • Katrina’s aftermath.

It’s been such a long day. Alex left around 5, and I came back to get ready for my last week of work. Hooray for that!

I think I’m ready for a change in my life. I’m hoping it will be drastic. Only time will tell.

We heard from a few more family members in Louisana. A couple of them are homeless. Some can’t even make it to their houses, so they are unsure. The last few are still MIA. Please pray for them.

    Loves and AOT,

  • random.

Alex and I are going to see his parents today so we can get him a phone that works. YAYAY! I am so excited.

One more week of work hell before I start the really great job.

P.S. Lots of phone drama going on right now… Really makes me upset and frustrated.

Gas prices are over $3 now… fun stuff.
