i always seem to run across fun, kitchy e-cards for different holidays, and v-day seems to be no exception. abc.com has put together cool cards for you to send out to your honey.

i’m still searching for something small for alex. i’ve got tons of ideas, but there’s no need to waste them on v-day.

i’m girly enough to want to recognize the day, but smart enough to not want to over-indulge. after all, it’s a holiday created by greeting card companies in an attempt to make more money.

instead of going out to eat, we will eat in. that’s our tradition. or at least, that’s us being wise enough to not battle every other couple in texas for the last table at red lobster.

i’m not quite sure what i’ll be cooking, but i DO know it’ll be tasty. any thoughts? i think i might do a random google search for a new recipe. if laziness kicks in, i’ll just pull one of my specialties. you can’t go wrong with those.

btw, not to put a downer on getting your other half chocolates, but keep this in mind.

i love reading blogs! there’s a series i am smitten right now, written by a woman named tracee sioux. she calls herself a femimommy, and she really is a feminist (the good, pleasant kind). see one of her blogs here. (she lives in east texas, but isn’t native …  we have tons in common!)

i’ve been getting a lot of telemarketing calls on my cell phone, despite the fact that it’s a, you know, CELL PHONE. if you are having the same problem, or would like to prevent it from annoying you in the future, register your number with the “do not call” registry. so worth it.

oh yeah … today is national pancake day! head to your nearest ihop for a free shortstack, on me.

riley isn’t magically fixed … yet.

the vet said that everything needed to stay as-is for two more days.

so the catheter and diaper changes continue.

we WERE allowed to bring milo home, however.

he’s a pissed off kitty. he’s growling and hissing at riley.

i think it’s the overwhelming pee smell. (that should go away after the grooming on saturday)

he should warm up to her again soon, right?
