mr. milo just got home from the vet.
on the exterior, he's the epitome of good health. even at 17.6 pounds, he's in the "normal" range for his size
(see!? he's not fat, just BIG-BONED).
his fur is shiny and thick
(as evidenced by the layer of white on every stitch of EVERYTHING in the house) and his teeth are marvelous.
you wanna put what WHERE?!we've got some behavioral and internal issues to deal with, though. long story short, he's taken to poo-ing on the floor.
every. day. and this morning, he took it one step further and peed on the carpet in front of me.
poor baby. until now, we had chalked it up to kitty moodiness
(thanks, old worthless mr. vet). per instruction, husband and i changed foods and changed litters "to appease him." we did every quirky thing suggested of us, only to watch it get WORSE.
we searched for an explanation for months, and the only thing that made sense to us was illness —
but mr. vet had already ruled that out! frustrated, we tried a new vet clinic. enter awesome
mrs. vet: over the course of time, using the bathroom has become painful for him
(most likely from bacteria or other infection in his intestines) — he associates the pain with the litter box, thus he goes on the floor instead.
it sucks to know he's in pain, but
mrs. vet seemed very confident that we'll get him feeling much better in time.
mrs. vet: i thank you,
my kitty thanks you and my
CARPET thanks you, too!

your kitty is soo cute...if only i wasnt deathly afraide of cats clawing my eyes out....
@CiaoBella810 - thank you!! fortunately, he is completely claw-less!
(haha, now i'm going to get animal rights people out after me ...)
Yay for good vets!
I miss my kitty a lot right now. I'll see him in December when I'm home for my sister's wedding and then again for Christmas a couple of weeks later.
Here's my baby: Mercutio in my dad's tool box! (All the drawers were taken out.)
awwww... poor kitty!! i used to work for a vet and i learned a lot during that time. anytime a kitty uses the bathroom outside of the litter box, he is telling you something is wrong. it may not be infection but many times, it is. it can be because of visitors to the house or a new pet or child in the house. but often times, it is due to a urinary tract infection or other type of infection. i am glad you got a different doc to help. poor kitty. i hope he gets better soon!!!
Glad you saw a different vet and it got all worked out! :) your cat is soo adorable ^_^

@cre13 - that's exactly what we thought! when he first diagnosed milo, we were going through puppy changes (she left, then came back, then left again), so we could kind of see that it could be possible, but when it kept happening — and continued to worsen — we knew we had to do something more.
@EilisAngelos - yay, indeed!! thanks for sharing the ADORABLE pictures. you know i'm a sucker for a cute kitty ...
@yukinkoIcy - thank you!! me, too!
@BarelyJen - Yep! I've got a whole album of kitty pictures! (Though I haven't sorted ALL of my pictures yet.) I even have one of a kitten in a bowl, taken with my cameraphone. He kept stepping into it, curling up, then leaning his head back and toppling out.
That looks like one cool cat.
@edlives - haha, he TOTALLY is. you should see him chillin' in the window in the afternoon!
Aww, the poor baby! I hope he feels better! And of course that your carpet looks better!
My girly's got tapeworms we're treating.
POOR BABY!!! Rub his belly!!! HURRY!!! He needs loving ..and a new litter box so that he can associate it with good poops!
sooo cute!
I'm glad they figured out what was wrong with poor Milo! Hopefully he'll be feeling 100% soon.
I'm glad to know that they figured out what was wrong!!! Hopefully he'll be better very soon!!!! Awwww.................
I think he's a bit chubby, does he go out at night? maybe he's just getting old and loved
@OwenHiggins - i was shocked that his weight is "normal!"
but, he really is a BIG cat; so tall and LOOOOOONG!
nope, he stays in 24/7 and lol, he's only 2-1/2. definitely VERY loved. (however, not overfed or anything. in fact, he's been on a special diet since we got him
)
@jediwa72 - now we get the task of choosing a very different type of litter ... hrm ...
@SnippiesBlog - @TheCheshireGrins - @mynewlife1126 - thank you! i'm glad, too. it's been worrying us for awhile now.
Apparently both my cats are overweight, pfff
Cute photos :)
Aww I'm glad you got that settled! Stupid Mr. Vet!
Your cat is delightful :) He's so cute!
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOW
Hehhhhhhhhhhhhh... kitty...
I just have one thing to say: Mreow!!
My kitty is overweight.
He is not even a year yet lol
I love kitties :)
Sometimes at work, the kitties in the cat room escape their cages and run all over the cat room and I have to go and talk to them and tell them they have to stop being bad and make people, who are interested in adopting them, think they are so innocent and sweet. Then when they get to those people's houses then they can't unleash bad kitty!
They usually listen.
ADORABLE KITTY!!!
supercute!
He is SO gorgeous!! I'm so glad the vet helped figure out what was going on! Poor kitty!!
@pinky93085 - @anth0nyc - @amyunicorn - thank you — i'd have to agree with you!!
