  • archive it, baby.

well, after over four years of xanga-ing, i decided to archive. it’s really interesting to re-live the journey that is my life … it’s entertaining to watch my writing styles/formatting change based on where i was at that moment. hummm …

anyway, some have asked how to do it, so here’s a quick rundown.

go to your private main page (i’m in the “new view”, btw)

on the left side, find “weblog archives.”

then follow the prompts it gives you (“create archive”/”update your archive”)

when it’s all said and done (takes about 24 hours), you’ll have a .zip file waiting for you!

it archives full text and HTML by month, including other peoples comments. tres cool!

keep in mind that archiving is only available to paying xangans right now … if that’s not you, you may want to pony up the $$ — it’s totally worth it!

UPDATE: difference between old and new home page view:

  • crash and burn.

    dad’s okay.

    car is totaled.

    someone ran a red light.

    airbags went off.

he’s a bit banged up, but he’ll be fine.

    he needs a new car.

RIP 1997 white ford mustang — how i loved you so!

  • florida divided (what else is new?!)

apparently, some florida cities are petitioning to split its state in two.

according to the press release:southeast Florida contributes more tax revenue to the State of
Florida than it receives from the present State government. these
counties being the most populated have requirements for conducting
their affairs that are different and often times more intense than
other portions of the State. Florida is too varied for this one-size
fits all approach to cities and counties.”

the split would aid smaller cities who aren’t in the same league as the major tourist areas (hello, orlando and miami!). they would be able to set less-stringent business guidelines, allowing them to prosper in the face of their metropolitan counterparts.

    i
totally understand that. i’m sure you do, too.

but you know some government officials are sitting there, thinking: where the hell would we fit a 51st star on the flag?!

(seriously, our country has decided against something for less …)

  • mmm …

yeah, i’m pretty sure i’m in love.

touseled hair and goatees are hot!

tons of sleek iron is even hotter!

robert downey jr: you are at the top of my “free pass” list … call me. (even if you are barely recognizable in your next flick, i love you for your creativity, sense of humor, and awesome acting ability.)

p.s. yes, IRON MAN was awesome. yes, i stayed until the credits were done (snakes on a plane, wha?!) and yes, i’m excited for the next two sequels.
