can’t. look. away.
what am i doing on a friday night?
sitting in the office, surfing between cnn, usatoday and dallasnews; watching larry king’s hurricane coverage; answering husband’s questions about the hurricane and flipping through this.
knowledge is power, but this may be too much.
i just want it to get here already. the speculation of what might happen is freaking me out.
category one by the time it gets to me tomorrow. fun.

learn more about the category four hurricane that hit galveston in 1900. it is the most devastating hurricane in HISTORY, killing THOUSANDS of people and erasing an entire city.

Not knowing everything could be a bliss.
Good luck. It’s funny, I don’t live in a hurricane zone anymore, yet two years later I still find myself tracking the hurricanes (even the little ones) and thinking about if maybe the schools will get out or if people will be rushing to get the hurricane shudders up with those same slightly nervous pangs in my chest wondering if it’s going to take us out or if it will give us a nice windy storm to go out sailing in… then I remember I live in Pennsylvania. tehe… I hope you’re ok, category 1 shouldn’t rock you too hard…
@silentsoundsystem - it definitely won’t blow the house down here or anything — i’m more concerned about the after-math and impact on the economy … btw, i love pennsylvania!
I watched a huge documentary on the 1900 hurricane a few years back…that was horrible! And, if it weren’t for the fact that my son just walked in and asked if he could watch Monster Buster Club, I’d still be glued in on the hurricane. Thank God for cnn.com!
@BarelyJen - yeah, category ones are really just a hella rainstorm, but the effect on the economy, etc. is definitely concerning, especially right now. I’m getting there on the loving Pennsylvania part, it is in fact quite nice I suppose…
Stay safe!
