political posts rawk.
i’ve really enjoyed discussing politics lately. on my “why obama” post, for example, i’ve received a lot of well thought out comments from all walks of political thinking. it’s just one more way of educating myself, and others.
i’d like to take a moment to thank the thought-provoking members of the republican, democratic, libertarian, independent, green, socialist (and other) parties that have left their mark in my blog.
“Dearest Jen- I applaud you for making an informed decision on your vote. I fully support your decision to vote on the platform that supports your daily belief. Hooray for you for being able to say *WHY* you’re voting for this man. I love your blog, but you already know I disagree with you on politics.”
“great post on obama =] you better be voting in the election.” “Thank you for being honest with your opinion, as well as being respectful!” “Thank you for standing up for what you believe. We need more people like you in this world, willing to think for themselves and stand up to bullies.”
seriously. i am very fortunate to have such intelligent people igniting my brain and helping me think outside of my party.i’d also like to thank those who left these (and other) stellar comments — it reminds me why i don’t wax political more often.
“You are so screwed up … How dare you hold your head up high in public and call yourself an American … Under different circumstances it would be amusing to watch all you ppl change your tunes. But it wont be. It will be the saddest thing ever witnessed. And you will be helpless. And the fact that you are proud to be acquainted, associated and related to gays and lesbians just proves my point. You are screwed up. Go drink a bottle of Tabasco sauce through your nose. Or hang yourself. Anything.”
“Get a life lady YOU LIBERALS ARE SOOO IGNORANT! You left wing people, you change views or ideas when its convienient for you to look good … you liberals are impossible. Hugh Hewitt was right…liberalism is a mental disorder…i’m not going to argue with your idiotic ideas…”
*chuckles*someone better pass me the tabasco, quick … i’ve got to try this. oh, and can any of my LGBT friends drive me to the mental ward? apparently i need help.
**yeah, so the post started out genuine enough, but the sarcasm broke out at the end. my bad.

Those sure are some “stellar” comments, haha.
I always feel best if I have a flaming liberal on one side of me and a loony conservative on the other side.
Oh wow. At least we are mental in good company, would you pass the tabasco sauce?
The grammar they used is making me flinch. (I’m probably the last one who should criticize this on others, but really…)
I have not had many well thought-out political discussions via Xanga. There’s a lot of “Obama is scary” and “*gasp* he’s a socialist.” (nevermind he’s not [ask any socialist] and is socialist really a bad thing?) I used to be a far right-wing conservative; very partisan. I find myself partisan these days, as well, I’ve just shifted very far to the left.
Glad you’ve found some bright lights in your political convos and sorry you’ve found some dim bulbs, as well.
@buckeyegirl31 - haha, i think the grammar irritated me more than what they actually said.
I happen to enjoy tabasco sauce, and if I’m going to hell anyway, why not, right?
i missed your post… can you write up a nonbiased report on both of them for me? =) haha, i’m so baaaaaad, i probably shouldn’t vote…
@silentsoundsystem - exactly.
i’m pretty sure if i hang myself upside down, the nose thing may be possible. i think it’s time for experimentin’.
@npr32486 - i’m pretty sure i’m going to do a dissertation on socialism next. HAH!
@BarelyJen - perfect. see, this person thought they were leaving hate, but really it’s just a world of possibilities!
I think what those last two people meant to say was…
more animals
i’d be frustrated too if i were conservative.. i mean look at their candidates ..and the poll numbers
It’s so obvious that Obama is a positive force and McCain the exact opposite negative one is it not?
I have to wonder, do they seriously think they’ll convert anyone? Or do they think they’ll intimidate you? Or do they think anyone willl even do anything at all other than mock them mercilessly?
Stellar in deed. LOL thanks for the laugh today!
The stellar comments are special. I wonder where people come up with all of this insanity…
I actually think I’d prefer hanging myself to snorting tobasco.
Its comments like that make you wonder whatever happened to civilized discourse in this country…
Wow, just wow. The best part about the ‘liberalism is a mental defect comment’ was how she yelled at you to stop bothering her..on your own site where she kept coming back.
And congrats for attracting the best douchebags (per Vanedave of course)
