the mario mentality.
i made a very important comparison today. one that ties my childhood
with my present, in an attempt to change my attitude on the future.*drum roll, please …*
i realized that life is full of levels to beat, just like in super
mario world (and super mario bros, super smash bros, mario kart, mario
teaches typing … er, you get the idea. mr. popular is in over 200
video games!).we’re all leveling up through life, just like mario.
the start of the game is so simple … one minute, you’re walking
around eating apples with your favorite buddy (ahh, yoshi) and the
next thing you know, the shit hits the flagpole:the princess is kidnapped.
exclamation points need to be found.
getting taller is a possibility, only if you eat weird-looking mushrooms.
survival depends on flying with a feather or riding an animal one-fifth your weight.
spiky animals will rain from the sky.
most of all, you have to fit your pizza-loving ass down a skinny pipe.
… and that’s all before you meet your first of bowser’s annoying minions.
see, life just keeps getting harder with each advancement. but i guess
it’s also super fulfilling to make it to the next step (almost)
unscathed.

i mean, if a plumber can make it through, i can too, right?
(shit, i can’t find my cheat codes!)
*ps: some of these pictures were too good NOT to post!!pps: i can has rekommendz?

Haha, this is actually a good way to look at it. As long as we don’t have to go into the fire castle, I think I’m good
Love it! this is an awesome way to look at it. I loved reading it, cause it sooo took me back to my childhood when I was trying sooo hard to get Mario thru all the twists and turns!
Those costumes are SO GOOD! Haha.
@shortiegirl99 - i know, right?! i was gonna throw in a donkey kong analogy, too (realizing your life savings of bananas are gone, having to fly with your high cousin, putting up with annoying grandpa, swimming on a slipper porpoise), but thought that’d be a little much.
oh, childhood, how i miss thee. how simple the times were then!
@couldquitepossiblybeme - haha! the haunted houses always got to me. i hated the ghosts with their tongues sticking out at me, mocking me.
@AreYouThereGodItsMeEmilyC - i KNOW!! i found it on my search for screengrabs, and couldn’t resist them!
Stopped by on a rec from ShortieGirl99… enjoyed the post
@Mirandasuzanne - well, welcome!! glad you stopped by!
I always go through that one level over and over again in super mario bros to stock up on perpetual flying p-wings… or go after the harp-y thing that lets you skip all the levels/worlds.. I wish that applied to real life, haha (:
if you enjoy the post, share with others by recommending
@BarelyJen - oh! I sooo know what you mean about “Dr. Whang” I was for sure it was a male doctor when I first heard the name, but nope it was a very nice VERY prego lady doc. She is great with Drew though.
That picture of those people cosplaying is extremely creepy.
LOL! Oh, that is rich. Too bad we can’t reload after making a stupid decision, ay?
@AreYouThereGodItsMeEmilyC - i’ve seen WAY better … hell i’ve *made* way better!
I haven’t jumped on anyone’s head yet in this life so I must not have even reached level one yet.
haha funny post…for recommendz you should expand it out a little more though, you got a great concept going there
quality
loves it!
